Samuel Hasselhorn

German baritone Samuel Hasselhorn was awarded the First Prize of the Queen Elizabeth Competition 2018, the Emmerich Smola Prize “SWR Young Opera Stars” 2018, as well as First Prize in the 2017 Das Lied International Song Competition in Heidelberg.

Starting in season 2018/2019 Hasselhorn will join the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, where he will appear in various roles and performances. Other highlights of his 2018/19 season will include appearances at the Bozar in Brussels, the concert hall of the Luxembourg Philharmonic, Theater an der Wien, DeSingel in Antwerp, and in the prestigious Camerata Musica concert series in Cambridge. Collaboration partners include pianists Malcolm Martineau, Graham Johnson, and Justus Zeyen.

New CD

On September 12th, 2018 the CD “Dichterliebe²” will be released with GWK Records. Next to Schumann’s “Dichterliebe”, Samuel Hasselhorn and Boris Kusnezow also present Lieder from different composers with the same Heine poems that Robert Schumann used for his Dichterliebe.
